CALL FOR PROSE & POETRY:

Crossings is organizing an October 2012 exhibit

"It’s All One Water"

Deadline to enter: September 21, 2012

“Water is life's mater and matrix, mother and medium. There is no life without water.”

−Albert Szent-Gyorgyi (Hungarian Biochemist, 1937 Nobel Prize for Medicine

We swim in it, boat on it, bathe in it, cry it, must consume it and, to a 60-percent degree, are it. In winter, we even walk on it. Water is both elemental and functional; its energy captured to power cities and its power in waterfalls, oceans and floods, humbling.

Crossings invites you to share what water means to you for our “It’s All One Water” photography, prose and poetry exhibit in October. Explore whatever aspects of water fascinate you; we are looking for your written expression of this most basic foundation for life. Written pieces will be selected by a jury.

This exhibit will be held in collaboration with the Zumbro Watershed Partnership. The ZWP is dedicated to clean lakes, rivers, wetlands and groundwater.

This exhibit will be accompanied by programming about the Zumbro Watershed. Please note that while your setting can be the Zumbro Watershed area, you are free to write about water in any location, any form, any shape you envision.

Photographs and selected written works will be published in a full-color booklet available to included artists.
