Please register for the opening reception event of “Breaking Barriers Through the Arts” – a community art exhibit celebrating a collaboration between Avivo and COMPAS. On display in Cargill Hall December 4 through January 29, the show features artwork created during COMPAS-facilitated workshops for Avivo participants living with serious and persistent mental illness. Including visual and literary arts as well as music, the exhibition works to challenge mental health stigma, raise awareness, and strengthen the artistic community formed by this partnership which was made possible through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. A presentation by Avivo about their partnership with COMPAS begins at 6 pm and includes talks and performances by participating artists.
