CELICA (Sho Nikaido) is playing live music for Butoh dancer and McKnight Theater Artist Fellow Masanari Kawahara. At the performance they’ll also premiere CELICA’s music video by Nick Barbeln from Oakland, CA.
CELICA is the solo project of Sho Nikaido. Conceived in the winter of 2010, Nikaido recorded the lyrical, dystopian psych album "Bouquet for the Sunset U’ve Never Seen" in his bedroom. Lo-fi but meticulously arranged, it traverses folk, punk, pop, and electronic, and sounds like a synthesis of Vincent Gallo and Frank Ocean.
