OPEN CALL FOR ART – deadline for submissions JANUARY 5, 2020.

Drop off work for the exhibit at Vine Arts Center, 2nd Floor of the Ivy Arts Building, 2637 27th Ave. S. Minneapolis, on Thursday, January 30th from 5:30 to 9pm and Friday, January 31st from 3:00 to 9:00 pm.

Vine Arts Center, a nonprofit, volunteer-run art gallery located in the Seward Neighborhood of Minneapolis is inviting all artists to submit their work. Submissions can be in a variety of mediums, paintings, sculpture, collage, assemblage, photography, etc., which are inspired by music, sound, noise, a musician or group, album or body of work - the concept is pretty broad. The work can be recent or older.

We welcome diverse perspectives, honor what stage and level you are at on your art journey, and are very eager to see what you come up with!!! Please send in photographs of as many as 5 pieces - members of a Vine Arts jury committee will make selections for the exhibit.

We hope this is a fun February show! During the month of this exhibit we might have nights of sudden and loud jazz and rock noise experimentations which, ironically enough, will be inspired by the work in the gallery. Anything can happen.

The show will run from FEBRUARY 1, 2020 TO FEBRUARY 28, 2020.

On the opening night, Saturday, February 1st, we will be collecting suggested donations at the door in order to benefit community radio station KFAI, Fresh Air Radio www.kfai.org, and KFAI’s Vinyl Voices will be DJ’ing.

All profits from sales of art go to the artists with a 20% commission to the Vine Arts Center. Any work that is not sold may be picked up by the artists on Saturday, February 29th.
