2168 3rd Street, Suite 2A
White Bear Lake

Dates: December 7th (Thursday)
Times: 12:00pm - 7:00pm
Cost: $95.00 (includes materials)

In this workshop, we will explore the monotype techniques made famous by such artists as William Blake and Pablo Picasso. I will provide a brief overview of the history of this 400 year old art form where a one of a kind image is printed from a smooth (scratch-less and nonporous) printing plate. You will learn to create your own monotype prints using direct trace and direct painting/drawing methods. Bring lots of ideas and sketches as these processes encourage the prolific creation of unique prints.

Basic tools and materials will be provided. We will use both oil-based and water-based media, so be sure to bring a smock or wear appropriate clothing as these inks will permanently stain all fabric. The workshop will break for about one hour around 3:00pm, so please bring a snack or enjoy one of the many local restaurant options in Downtown White Bear Lake.

Class size is limited to 4 students. Open to all skill levels, ages 16 and older.
