Marjorie Fedyszyn is an artist-educator living in Minneapolis. She received a 2018 Artist Initiative Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board and was a 2013 Jerome Fiber Artist Project Grant recipient. “Irreproachable,” which means blameless, is rooted in incidents of abuse during her childhood.
“The meditative repetition of art making is part of my healing process and helps me understand that traumatic events from my childhood influenced my life and work.” She has explored the relationship between protection, control and vulnerability in her art. “The skins and barriers we apply and shed over a lifetime of experiences can keep us safe or reveal our vulnerabilities.”
Marjorie Fedyszyn is a fiscal 2018 recipient of an Artist Initiative Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to legislative appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature; and by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
