Information on TC Daily Planet

I went to the launch of the TC Daily Planet on Monday. The site has been up for several months but this was the formal launch. The Daily Planet, a project of the Twin Cities Media Alliance, is a portal to more than 30 community newspapers and online publications, edited by Craig Cox (editor of the Mpls Observer). Here's a video from mnstories that gives more info.
There was a lot of talk about this resource not being a handmaiden to PR or special interest and different from the typical elite new sources (read Strib) and since the arts writing on mnartists.org also strives (and accomplishes) this same goal I think it's great we're part of this media alliance. Work from mnartists.org writers will be frequently re-published on TC Daily Planet.
