Default The Kafka Dreams live on Radio K
Hello. If you are on time (it's 4pm minneapolis) you can listen to my brother and his friends play live on Radio K's Epic Instrumental show.

Heres the link, but only the 56k stream works. Please enjoy. OR just tune in 770 homies.

Brotherman Matt Rolfe on DRUMS. One of the best drummers in Minneapolis.

Default Now space
I made some jacksonpollock.org scribbles. Fun!

I was just posting now about the sun. I noticed a major particle storm a few days ago, and now a class X-3 flare is causing more.

So, while people are looking up at the GEMINID METEOR SHOWER Wednessday night, they may catch an aurora as well... (Skymap)

Default A new movie
Not to distract anyone from art action, but Alex Jones is on Coast to coast tonight and he has released his new film "TerrorStorm" for free on google video.

It's world class info. Watch out.

Xmas came a little early for me today. I decided to treat myself and order the Canon 50mm f/1.8 prime lens for my Rebel XT. Never had a prime before but I wasn't happy with the sharpness of my other lenses and this one was supposed to be awesome at a great price. It came today and I took some test pics, include the attached of a newly completed piece, Nexus. All I have to say is this lens rocks! I have a nice Canon 28-135mm zoom lens and this thing just blows it out of the water. I actually enjoyed having just the fixed focal length as well. Made me more conscious of my shots when I had to actually move around to get the right composition. Probably end up selling the zoom and buying a couple more primes. Can't remember the last time I was this happy with a purchase.

Default Dec 14th + 15 minutes
GEMINID UPDATE: "The Geminids are hopping," reports Bill Cooke of NASA's Meteoroid Environment Office. "We're seeing one meteor every three minutes here in Huntsville, Alabama." The shower is peaking tonight, and the display should only improve in the hours ahead. [full story] [sky map]

AURORA ALERT: Sky watchers everywhere should be alert for auroras on Dec. 14th. That's when a coronal mass ejection (CME) hurled into space by yesterday's X3-flare is expected to hit. NOAA forecasters estimate a 55% chance of severe geomagnetic storms.

Solar activity is expected to remain high for days. Sunspot 930, the source of the incoming CME, has an unstable "delta-class" magnetic field that harbors energy for more X-flares. Stay tuned.
