Hannah Shie is an emerging artist currently living in the Twin Cities. She is a recent grad from college with an Art/Graphic Design and Spanish major, and is currently looking to jump start her career in the creative world. She likes working with all types of mediums, but right now is exploring mixed media photography.
Hannah is a coffee lover, world traveler, Jane Austin fanatic, chocoholic, and has a passion for Hispanic language and culture. Art has always been a part of her life and she is excited to see where it takes her!
One of the things that I enjoy most is experiencing other cultures, and I especially love Hispanic and Latin cultures. I love talking with people from different backgrounds than mine and learning more about God, other people, and even myself.
My desire to learn more about other cultures emulates through my work. I find myself creating art based on my experiences in other cultures, and, is one of my ways of sharing my experiences with other people. My hope is that when people look at my work, they are able to visually step in and experience that place or idea for themselves.
Much of my work tends to be more on the realistic side of things, using perspective, architecture, and measured lines to create a composition. I find that through creating a realistic piece, it allows me to contemplate more about the subject matter.
The message of my art as a whole expresses a part of me and each piece says something different. Every artwork gives a snapshot of my story: the places I have been, the experiences I have had, as well as my values and beliefs.
