I am looking to perform on collaborative exhibits that include improvisation, experimental, electro-acoustic, composed, or a combination with other ideas. Hecker is a clarinetist and bass clarinetist located in Minnesota. As an established orchestral performer in the Duluth area, they have performed with the Minnesota Ballet Orchestra and Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra. Hecker pioritizes contemporary music with proficiency in extended techniques such as slap tongue, singing while playing, and multiphonics. They have performed in the Nief-Norf Summer Festival, soundSCAPE, the Waterloo Regions Contemporary Music Sessions, and with Zeitgeist.
Hecker’s current projects include Point Duo, an improvisational Chicago based duo with Alisa Kolot. Kolot specializes in prepared piano, synthesizers, and electronics while Hecker explores prepared and electro-acoustic bass clarinet. Hecker is also the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Greenlight New Music Festival, in Duluth, Minnesota. The project was founded with Tyler Pimm
Hecker has a B.M. and a M.M. in clarinet performance from the University of Minnesota, Duluth where they studied with Dr. Theodore Schoen.
