  • Asia is currently imprisoned regarding her Christian faith. She is holding a cup of water and there is a bucket at her feet since her ordeal involves water.  The vessel around her is inspired by traditional ceramics and water vessels of Pakistan.
  • Angela Heida updated the Artwork Seeing Dr. Benjamin
Dr. Benjamin works at theTandala Hopsital in the D.R. Congo where medical attention is scarce.
  • Lucy Rose leads many art groups, including one I am in and I am amazed at her dedication and positive attitude.  I threw 3 forms, stacked them and altered them to create this vessel. The surface is a textural crackle I am currently experiementing with.
  • Angela Heida updated the Artwork Jill
Jill is an amazing sevant to the children, homeless and the hungry of her community. Her form is hollow and lidded. The people who come to see her can place their worries or prayer requests into the small holes in the sculpture.  The carvings on her legs are symbolic of her work.
  • Pastor Saeed, a dual American and Iranian citizen, was imprisoned in Iran, and finally released in 2016.  The form around him is inspired by traditional Iranian vessels and pottery.

  • While in Jacmel, Haiti I learned about Soup Joumou from Fenel, a teacher there.  He shared that Haitians celebrate their Independence Day by eating squash soup, something they were forbidden to eat when enslaved in the past.
