Holey Socks, aka Kelly Meyer, graduated from St Cloud State University in 2004 with a BFA and emphasis in painting. She started in oils and eventually switched to acrylics for the convenience factor.
Motherhood created a need for a more immediate, portable medium that could be set down and picked up again repeatedly. This lead to a passion for embroidery; she is self taught. As her children age, she has been drawn back to painting and has started to experiment with gouache.
She is also an avid book worm, tattoo lovin’, mother & wife who loves to cook, collect rocks, troll garage sales & thrift stores, read good poetry, write BAD poetry, has a weird fascination with David Hasselhoff, Shaun Cassidy & sock monkeys, a Christian coffee guzzlin’, moderately green, carb loving, full fat, wannabe hippie, all around good gal.
