As I think of creating new work, I stare aimlessly into nothing until I am struck with inspiration or motivations. I would be lying if I said my ideas are not inspired by various sources, that is why I spend time looking. As I spend the time searching for inspiration, I may accompany myself with my family, friends and my hobbies. When an idea does start to take root in my mind, I begin a draft immediately - sketching in order to capture it.
During the creating process, I start with a simple and basic idea that branches out as several different ideas and possibilities. Starting my work that way helps me discover or develop a pattern out of the ordinary or twist the form to reveal a new perspective. My goal is to reveal an element of surprise or the unexpected. My work can be summarized as observing a form through a normal point of view and working to reveal an extraordinary one.
