Hello I'm Kristin Vogel. I am a Minnesotan Artist, born and raised in the north metro area. I graduated with a BFA from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. I worked in motion graphics for some time but did not find any fulfillment in it as it is not my calling. So I left the pursuit of glam and glitz of graphics, and have been working on creating artwork out of my home studio in Minneapolis ever since.
Nature is my true passion, and creating artwork is how I pay tribute towards it. I have a special fondness for North American flora and fauna alongside with Native American legends and culture. Hence my subjects are inspired by colorful nature-scapes and wildlife. My style derives from traditional landscape art through a surreal eye by use of deep saturated color, elevated contrast and occasionally fantasy imagery to share my view of Americana. The purpose of wildlife and landscape art is to inspire emotion and connection to our natural world for the viewer, which then harbors the importance of conservation within the individual. Artwork is such an important tool in preserving our environment. As an artist I am honored to be part of that process, and hope to connect as many people as I can to their nature.
I do take commissions for custom artwork.
