  • Shells in the Sand - J Wurst (2012) - Medium: Wool and Linen Fiber, Machine Knitted - Color and texture evoke images of shell buttons. Inpired by the Shell City townsite in Wadena County of north central Minnesota which existed in the late 19th century. The townsite along the banks of the Shell River featured a button factory which made use of the many shells found on the riverbank.
  • Flag Parade   - J Wurst (2017)   - Medium: Wool Fiber, Knit on a Vintage Knitting Machine Manufactured in 1904   - Flags are used in celebrations but also used as warnings. Do these flags stir the heart with feelings of patriotism, or signal a warning about rough seas ahead?
  • Autumn Glow Max J. Wurst (2004) Wool and Acrylic Fiber, Machine Knit and Felted   Bold colors appear as the sun descends over fields left with the remains of harvest decay.
