Nik Nerburn is an artist based in Duluth. While working as an educator and exhibiting artist, he also develops long-term documentary projects that tell stories about communities, document change, and enlarge the common life. As Greater Minnesota Outreach Coordinator for Mn Artists, he's focused on outreach to Minnesota's rural communities, small towns, and First Peoples. He believes that all artists should have opportunities to develop their practice, no matter where they happen to live.
"I share stories that enlarge the common life, prioritizing collaboration, compassion, trust, and time. I organize free family picture days, storefront photo shows, live-narrated neighborhood home-movies, marathon polaroid portrait giveaways, and rural outdoor experimental cinema screenings."
