What I love about the functional object is that it provides me with additional challenges to solve. I enjoy the razor’s edge of making an object that fulfills a practical need while still engaging the viewer in a dialogue. My work is always about finding a new way to look at functional objects, whether it is an unusual engineered structure, a repurposed material or a re-examination of our user experience.
