Franconia Sculpture Park is a professional artists’ organization dedicated to fostering an inspiring environment for artists to expand their skills and promote the public education of three-dimensional art.
FSP is committed to nurturing artistic excellence as it strives to enrich the cultural life of the community, region, and nation. FSP offers a working sanctuary for artists, an easily accessible exhibition for an urban audience interested in learning about monumental sculpture, and an opportunity for rural communities to experience a range of high-quality, diverse art work outside the confines of urban galleries and museums.
Described as a “seedbed for big audacious unfettered creation,” Franconia Sculpture Park supports emerging and established artists through a continuous year-round exhibition of new work, artist residencies, and internships. FSP encourages audience appreciation and participation in sculpture through dawn to dusk visiting hours, 365 days a year, in an informal setting where people are invited to watch and talk with artists as they work. Each year FSP hosts 15-25 artists and artist interns as they create and exhibit new work. FSP augments its exhibitions with educational and outreach programs that include docent tours, Kids Make Sculpture Workshops, outreach programs for at-risk youth, Hot Metal Pour, Three Dimensional Saturday Nights/Second Saturday Symposiums, and partnerships with other like-minded organizations.
