The Crosslake Art Club provides a friendly professional venue for artists to pursue their own level of art experience, in their own medium, while enjoying the benefits and support of club membership and the local community.
The club's purpose is to provide artists an opportunity to come together once or twice a month, year 'round, to paint and or create in any of the fine arts media. Members may be at any level of experience from beginners to advanced artists.
Members take pride in creating, exhibiting, teaching, marketing, and networking with other artists. The three-day August 2009 25th annual exhibition reported 2,000 visitors and $14,500 in sales of member oil paintings, water colors, drawings, prints, and sculptures. The exhibition is one of the highest attended shows in the area. The club also provides art for public spaces in the Brainerd lakes area.
From a small nucleus of seven charter members in 1984, the club has grown to well over 60 active members. They live in Crosslake and other surrounding communities, including Brainerd/Baxter, Nisswa, Pequot Lakes, Crosby, Pine River, Fifty Lakes, Emily, Deerwood, Merrifield, and Breezy Point. Some members are year-round residents, and others are "snow birds," residing in the area during the summer.
