The mission of the Rochester Art Center is to foster an appreciation and understanding of art of our time. Our vision is to become the premiere center for the visual arts in region. We do this by organizing and presenting exhibits featuring the art and artists of our time; developing talent and creativity through innovative educational programs, being an inviting and accessible place for people to interact with art. The Art Center values creativity, excellence, inquiry, accessibility, service and diversity.
Each year, the Rochester Art Center offers over 100 adult and children educational programs. These exceptional educational offerings include classes, workshops, film presentations, lectures and gallery tours for all ages.
Programs are designed to encourage an understanding and appreciation of the visual arts. Children and youth programs provide valuable hands-on art experiences under the direction of professional guest artists. Classes, art- after-school sessions, career and portfolio counseling, along with the popular Total Arts Day Camp, are just some of the programs offered for youth at the Center.
Scholarships are available for Art Center classes and workshops, making art accessible for everyone.
