Made from clay dug on location at Symco Pottery Works in Wisconsin, this nearly chunky-peanut butter textured example of ceramic vessel is an homage to Minnesota Potter Kevin Flicker.  Created at… the beginning of my career as a potter, I was inspired by seeing Kevin Flicker’s work and the research he had done into 12-13th century Buddhist bells, culminating eventually in an almost gravity defying solemn object.  This piece features Shino glaze, also made from stone found at Symco.MORE

Wood fired cup

The shape of these bowls was developed for the Meyer Farm Project in St. Joseph, MN.  The shape is often referred to as a “cowboy bowl”. These ergonomically inspired, palm shaped vess…els serve as a lovely conveyance for breakfast items and even hot drinks such as tea.  The bowls are gas fired and feature a Tenmoku glaze.  They seem to be pretty good for anything.MORE
