The Dancer-Presenter's Circle and Walker Art Center team up to present an exciting week of dance. Twin Cities National Dance Week events run from April 18-29th. There will be twenty dance performances at seven different locations throughout the week and two public receptions.
Meg Stuart begins National Dance Week celebrations with a free Opening Reception at Intermedia Arts on Tuesday April 18th at 7pm. This reception is open to the public and made possible by Meg Stuart, the Walker Art Center, Intermedia Arts, and the Dancer-Presenter's Circle. A closing reception for National Dance Week will be held on April 29th following the 8pm "20th Anniversary performance" at Patrick's Cabaret. This reception is made possible by Patrick's Cabaret and the Dancer-Presenter's Circle.
Twin Cities National Dance Week presenting venues include: the Walker Art Center, Intermedia Arts, Patrick's Cabaret, Kinetic Playground at Perpich Center for Arts Education, Kinetic Kitchen at Old Arizona Center for Performing and Media Arts, the University of Minnesota, Southern Theater, 9x22: A Dance Lab and Capture! at the Bryant Lake Bowl.
Performing artists include: Meg Stuart, Djola Branner, Susan Delattre, Kats Fukasawa, Patrick Scully, Chris Aiken, Laurie Van Wieren, John Killacky, Larry Connolly, Ananya Chatterjea, Romella Marzitelli, Susan Scalf, Judith Howard, Black Label Movement, Kinetic Evolutions, Anna Marie Shogren, Lisa Conlin, Buckets and Tap Shoes, Perpich Center Arts High School students, Apple Valley High School students, and films by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker.
