Sliding Scale
Sliding Scale is an eight-member acapella ensemble performing the music of community vocal traditions from around the world and across the centuries.
Collective singing, in many cultures, has built bonds and told stories through songs of awe at the natural and the divine, playful odes to everyday life, and rough-edged musical cries of grief and war.
We draw upon the singing traditions of eastern and western Europe, Appalachia, and the southern US. We also perform original compositions by our members and works by contemporary composers like Malcolm Dalglish, Ysaye Barnwell, and Pete Sutherland.
Sliding Scale is: Cully Gallagher, Soozin Hirschmugl, Megan Holm, Matt Ryan, Rachael Sarto, Laurie Witzkowski, Chandler Yorkhall, and Kara Yorkhall.
