Curator's Statement

Rochester Art Center is at it again with programming as good looking as the building they're in.

Contemporary art 101 is a free contemporary art history seminar held at the Rochester Art Center the first Thursday of each month. Led by Curator of Education Scott Stulen (an artist of some note himself) the seminar provides historical context for the artwork of our time. Each session covers important contemporary artists, movements, theories, and trends in a relaxed and open atmosphere. Lecture notes and handouts are provided for each session to encourage group participation and continuity.

mnartists.org thought it would be good to piggy-back on the RAC's program. We've asked Scott to lend us his lecture notes and give us links to the artists he's using for each of the talks. This collection is the first in an on-going collaboration.
