Cole Oosterhuis is an Art History student with a minor in Architecture at Augsburg College. The focus of his studies has primarily been on architecture and he has experience in AutoCAD, hand-drafting, painting, drawing and linear perspective drawing. His study of Art History has allowed him to view architectural projects from the pre-historic times to modern structures and has given him a broad range of visual literacy in many different architectural styles. His studies in architectural space and sociology have uprooted a passion to learn and discover how people use, move through and view spaces as they interact with them in their everyday lives. He uses of architectural examples and personal observation to view ways in which spaces can be more effective and function as a whole within its individual architectural features. His interest in buildings came at a young age when his dad was designing and selling log homes and this passion has grown exponentially as his studies opened him up to the history and design of buildings. Cole plans to attend Graduate school to become a licensed architect to create and design buildings that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing to the people that occupy and use them.
