mnartists.org and RAIN TAXI present: "The Zine Apothecary"

Collector's Statement
Zines are, by and large, deeply creative endeavors. Like guerrilla art, zines are disdained by the "establishment," especially the fearfully narrow-minded political, publishing and art segments thereof. And like guerrilla art, zines and zine culture are here to stay.
In this wonderful essay, Sarah Peters provides an overview of zines and zine culture with a focus on Lacey Prpic Hedtke, a Minneapolis luminary of the culture, and Hedtke's new endeavor, The Zine Apothecary, to make zines more broadly and easily available in the hallowed, hard copy flesh.
Writings on mnartists.org that beautifully engage.
