These pipes are often refered to as peace pipes, because they were often seen and pictured at treaty signing ceremonies. Pipes were actually used to seal deals much like we use a bible today when you teastify in court. Pipes were also used as a tool to send the owners prayer to Creator. Sometimes you might hang a pipe inside your home as a prayer that all those residing within the walls would be protected.
