Paula's art career began in the two dimensional, paintings, sketching and the like. Her husband, Larry, who is a millwright, suggested trying metal work. He proceeded to teach Paula welding, forge work and cold forming; 15 years later, Paula continues to explore using differing methods to create her metal sculptures. Paula has worked as a welder fabricator for different businesses. In 2001 she became self-employed in order to pursue a metal art career through Paula and Larry's business Earth Eagle Forge LLC. The experience gained as a two dimensional artist to a three dimensional, equipped Paula the ability to first conceptualize an idea through sketch work, and then implementing those ideas into reality. Paula's method of creating is by forming, welding and carving metal, piece by piece to come to a finished sculpture. Her tenacity for detail is evident in the finished pieces

I think about how nature influences us as a species and the reverse of that, how we effect nature and the world as a whole.Whether I'm creating for a client, or creating an idea, nature, wildlife as well as the human figure enter the mix in one form or another of my work. Nature and organic forms being the major influence, my hope is not only to create something beautiful, but thought provoking. Metal is my medium, art is what I create from it. Custom work is my livelihood...
