Linda Seebauer Hansen
Linda Seebauer Hansen earned a Master of Fine Arts in metalsmithing from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1997 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse in 1994. After completing her graduate degree, she received an Individual Fellowship Award from the Wisconsin State Arts Board and became an active member of MetalPeople Studio in Madison, WI. While in Madison she worked as a studio artist and visiting instructor at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater and Madison, and Milwaukee Area Technical College. In 2004, she accepted a position as Art Metals Department Head at the Worcester Center for Crafts, MA and in 2006 was presented with the Barrett Morgan Award for exemplary leadership and teaching. In 2007, she moved to Minnesota to pursue directing a comprehensive education program for the Weavers Guild of MN, a Minneapolis based non-profit arts organization. In 2014, she was the recipient of a scholarship to attend the Women's Art Institute at St. Catherine's University and in 2015 she was invited back as a teaching assistant. Also, in 2015, she completed a Winter Residency and was selected for a Summer Studio Assistantship at Penland School of Crafts in NC.
Currently, Linda is renting studio space and teaching classes at Quench Jewelry Arts in the historic Casket Arts Building located in a vibrant Northeast Minneapolis community. She is exhibiting in a variety of shows and working with clients on one-of-a-kind commissions. In addition to her metal work, Linda is pursuing oil painting with cold wax and combining this new medium with sculpture.
