I have been painting since 1987. I began in watercolor, but now paint mainly in oil. Painting combines my love for color, my love of nature and my love of paint.
I have painted a variety of subjects: landscapes, florals, abstracts and people. My work has been inspired by trips abroad and by our cabin in Northern MN. It ranges from realistic to abstract, leaning towards realism. I often work in a series format and like to experiment with different painting styles. In my work I try to communicate a mood or a feeling for the viewer. I paint subjects that move me or entice me rather than subjects with deep psyshological meaning for myself or others.
I have studied with local and national instructors and am part of an ongoing studio painting class. My work has been in many juried and non-juried shows and many of my paintings are owned by private collectors. One of my paintings was purchased by the MN Horticultural Society.
