Ryan Min Gyoo Nelson is a burgeoning, freelance photographer specializing in landscape and travel. As an avid outdoorsman, he is comfortable with long assignments and undeterred by unfamiliar terrain or location. Ryan works locally, nationally, as well as internationally, for commissioned and independent photography projects. His images have been shared widely, from his photo of Morgan Falls, by the US Forest Services to photos of Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, Norway. He typically favors locations free from signs of industry or human encroachment. It is no wonder he can often be found exploring the Northwoods in his home state of Minnesota.
Ryan is also an enthusiastic educator and can often be found taking photographers to explore and capture scenes from some of his favorite locations, teaching them how to capture breathtaking landscapes (whether under golden light or the full moon), beautiful night skies, or his favorite, the Northern Lights.
He is currently enrolled in the AFA in Arts program at Normandale Community College, in Bloomington, MN, where he is focusing on visual communication and proliferation of concept.
