When I was little I was big into drawing athletes (frequently Kirby Puckett) and characters from the animated series, Alf. From an early age I’ve wanted to draw figures as realistically as possible.
I like painting because for me it’s the most creative medium, but I would like to do more sewing if we could get a machine in the studio. I worked on textiles in the past when I was in high school, and it’s something I wouldn’t mind getting back into.
My work focuses on a large area of subjects: landscapes, objects, people, places, things, buildings, bridges, landmarks. My favorite would have to be portraits, though. I enjoy recording the high level of detail found in the skin tone and facial features, and I strive to capture a "window effect" with the canvas, as if the person were right there in front of me.
Art has given me the ability to create images that can put people in a state of amazement. That’s what I put my creativity to use towards. From a more personal standpoint, I have found making artwork to be a very relaxing pastime for me.
In the future, I want to establish a new way of enhancing both the mind and creativity. I’m also intrigued by the architecture of the Roman Empire and other antique cultures, so I hope to one day travel the world, seeing all the great wonders and learning from their accomplishment.
