Jesse Quam is an American self-taught visual artist living and working in Minneapolis, MN. He formulates paintings exploring flow, energy and organic shapes that mold into a visually intriguing atmosphere. The surrealist movement, abstract expressionism, and romanticism influence his style of painting. As a multifaceted artist, he also creates claymation videos, murals, and linocut prints. Jesse Quam and his wife Brookita Corazón started the Meta Project in 2013 creating murals in both the United States and Spain.
Exploration of the world has driven my essence, enriched my soul, and given purpose to a life of creating. Traveling to Spain and France in 2016 inspired the work I have been creating for the past two years. My style of work is an infusion of abstract and pop art. In developing each piece I utilize my skills in linocut printing and painting. I hope the viewer experiences the depth of color, line work, and elegant brush strokes composed throughout each work of art. My subject matter is mostly landscapes and portraits of people I create from my imagination. As an artist my goal is to continually strive to develop the unknown and stimulate genuine creative growth in myself.
