American painter, Donna Bruni, creates elemental and atmospheric paintings that hold references to places remembered or imagined, suspended within richly layered surfaces of color. Bruni grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and studied graphic design at Endicott College (MA) and the School of Visual Arts (NYC). She holds a BA from the University of Minnesota in Visual Art & Healing.
Bruni's art career began as an assistant art director in New York. She was co-founder and Art Director of Response Communications Group in Red Bank, NJ. After relocating to the Midwest, she established her painting studio in the Minneapolis warehouse district, while working with Minneapolis visual artist and mentor, Jantje Visscher for two years. Bruni is gallery curator at M Health Mill City Clinic in Minneapolis, an integrative arts & health medical practice promoting community engagement with Minnesota artists through three visual arts exhibitions per year.
