Jake Schlichting is an artist, choreographer, and performer recently relocated to the Twin Cities. For the past 3 years Jake lived in New York collaborating and showing his work with the likes of Robert Wilson, Miguel Gutierrez, Desi Santiago, Carlos Soto, and Lynsey Peisinger. Jake received his BA in Studio Art and Dance from St. Olaf College in 2009 where he graduated with distinction. He often works with installations in which he creates a performance. In 2010 he traveled to Japan to study Butoh with the world-renowned Butoh master Akaji Maro and his company Dairakudakan. He has been creating Butoh inspired work ever since. During the day Jake works as a preschool teacher bringing Yoga and Tai Chi to his students.
