While in Spicer, served as the first paid coordinator for the Willmar Area Community Foundation, and served as a volunteer in various West Central Mn organizations including: New London Music Festival planning commitee; Studio Hop for Willmar, Spicer and New London areas; fundraising committee for Rice Memorial Foundation in Willmar; Board member Willmar Area Arts Councl. Also served as the first Chair of Citizens Advisory Committee - Middle Fork Crow River Watershed District; and provided leadership to establishing the Nest Lake Improvement Association 501(c)(3) status.
Established a company in 2005 with a focus on copper enameling, automatas, wood carving and mixed media paintings called NLJ Fish Arts, LLC.
