Colleen Baillie is a ceramic artist born and raised in Minneapolis. Baillie is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts at the University of Minnesota. She recognizes her long time mentor, and Japanese trained potter, Mel Jacobson for providing her with skills and knowledge needed to create functional ceramic objects, which reside at the core of her artistic practice. She is most interested in the effects obtained in reduction firing atmospheres. Baillie has exhibited work in the Scholarship Exhibition in the Quarter Gallery at the University of Minnesota.
