Artist Statement

i am a bombastic multimedia performance artist, innovator, iconoclast and mother of the future robots.

i also crochet and make yummy soup.

with my work i want you to feel like you are receiving a hidden surprise treasure box that you can carry in your pocket, if you like. a tiny time capsule from my world to yours....

my ongoing anacam.com project has been featured in MoMA and hundreds of places and medias around the world and i am a former major label recording artist.

i enjoy pushing boundaries, especially mine. i am curious. i like to question.
i like to play with the world around me and share my experiences to highlight the sacred in the mundane (the beauty of dust, the sounds of water and breathing)  and the human condition we all experience together.
everything, to me, is interesting and most often beautiful, even decay and sadness.
i exist to be honest in sharing my experiences and feelings so we can all feel less alone in a world of increased social media isolation via filtering. i am an introvert so the internet is a perfect way for me to interact and i've been doing this since 1996.

i do not like to censor. i do not have a public persona. what you see is what you get. i believe that honest exchange of experience is a key to understanding and evolvement.
i believe we all need to slow down a little and get our attention spans back.
as there is a "slow food" movement. i am calling my art "slow art movement" to get us to stand back, take a breath, and reflect so we can better understand ourselves and our place in this world.

i am also lo tech and lo fi. i do a lot of my work now on my ipod because i like to work in a mobile way. i am an analog girl in a digital world. i believe that low res has an intimate and dreamy quality that high res cannot achieve. i am not about keeping up with the latest novelty.

i am curious about everything and i research constantly.
i pay attention to my dreams.
