Being born, raised, and living in three different continents, I get inspired by every aspect, place, time, and motion. Art in general takes my mind to places where I can ponder for hours. My love of nature, living things, and traveling to distant lands are emphasized in my art. I often choose a message to convey in a painting before I choose the subject matter. However; sometimes I will have phases of progression throughout my work that would open my eyes to use divergent materials and techniques while preserving the main methodology. I mostly lean toward realism with lots of details and depth even though I’ve represented abstract and impressionism as well.
Currently, I’m working on a series to show part of my identity as a Muslim Arab woman using Arabic calligraphy and Islamic designs showing the beauty of the common ground among religions. I hope my art will bring people together, and to be the gate toward unifying our differences.
