A.Vercnocke, or also known as Amarama, was born in Cloquet, Minnesota 1980. Currently Rochester,MN has been home since 2003. Amarama has a two year degree in studio art and a BS in Biology from Winona State University. A self taught lifelong learner of the arts, they are acively involved in local organizations such as C4, RAE, and as a member of Gallery 24 aritst co op. They are a non binary / gender fluid artist that likes to explore the art world through touch.
A freelance diverse and eclectic arist in a variety of art mediums, the main focus these days is with fiber arts via needle felting. It is the process throughout the piece that they enjoy the most when creating.
Amarama has enjoyed working with stain glass, acrylic paintings, woodworking, acid etching, soap stone carving, water colors and fiber arts. Currently they enjoy exploring how the senses colaborate with touch, and how color can illicite an emotional response all with the usenof fibers.

These days their main focus is that of fiber arts with original self taught felting methods involving needle felting wool. The goal is to explore how the public interacts with fiber art works via touch in addition to creating pieces that invoke an emotional response to those senses.
Amarama came up with the term, “wool sculpting” to describe their techniques that they have been developing over the past 10 years. In 2008 they started their art business, AmaramA ART, which has led to numerous private collections of various soft sculptures, paintings and drawings within the United States and around the world.
