I am someone who likes the process of creating drawings. It calms me and feels pleasant. It’s something I can do with groups of other artists or on my own. Being someone who suffers from depression it is one of the few activities I can do that offers respite.
I keep a collection of images on my phone as subject matter for drawings. I don’t spend a lot of time deciding what to draw but rather I like to start my hand moving. I often use ink when I start drawing and use my mistakes in the art.
I have enjoyed making art for as long as I can remember. It was a way to get some positive attention when there wasn’t much to go around.
