  • Juliane Shibata updated the Artwork Still lifes
  • This installation considers our experiences with and perceptions of ornamental motifs and cyclical, time-based patterns. Inspired by the Pattern and Decoration movement, which embraced and celebrated decoration from all over the world, I use papers from Japan, Nepal, Thailand, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, India, and Egypt as a backdrop to real and porcelain flowers.
  • Nineteen artist studios in Northfield and the surrounding area will be open to the public from 10am - 6pm Saturday, October 17 and 11am - 5pm on Sunday, October 18.  Forty-five artists, many of whom are regionally recognized, will be showcasing their work on the Studio ARTour of South Central Minnesota.  Ten individuals will be demonstrating the techniques used in their creative practice, and seven studios will be open for early preview and shopping from 4-8pm on Friday, October 16.
