For me, it feels like an out-of-body experience; my mind thinks of one thing while my hands do something else.
Starfish Go to Heaven

No starfish were maimed or flamed in the making of this artwork. I loved how the patina turned blue and purple at its heart, and how the starfish itself was imperfect.
However, I prefer to make things minute. This crane, for example, is little bigger than a dime.
Every walk inevitably sends me scurrying back to my sketchbook.Leaves are a current obsession, whether apple, rhubarb, grape, oak, or elm. I've experimented with precious metal clay slip, paste, paper, and slurry. I've broken more pieces than I care to admit.Originally, this was an oak leaf the size of my hand. After several firings, it broke down to the size of my palm. I'm still experimenting.
The lake is sparkling, a drink is in hand. Or I'm imagining this as I sit in my studio. You decide. This is also the set of earrings shown in my portrait.
The "rose" charm was made by shaping PMC and adding a rose tourmaline before firing. Between all of the crystal energy, it is a piece that honors love and the goddess inside women.
