When you believe that the modern American receives too much media stimuli it becomes problematic to create a piece of music. Adding to the already saturated world of iPods, car radios, and industrial sound seems contradictory. Because of this belief it was my intent to create a space for reflection different from everyday experiences, one that would leave the listener more aware of their surroundings. A sort of contemplative exercise. The sounds are at the same time music and Musak, intended for the foreground or the background. The listener can focus on it; or not. The listening experience rewards attention but is also non-obtrusive, never intending to obscure the thoughts of the listener. It is non-confrontational and yet challenges the listener to observe subtle changes over time and to actively listen rather than passively hear.

audio: April 8th pt. 1

audio: April 8th pt. 2

audio: April 10th

audio: April 11th

audio: April 12th

audio: April 15th
