She started off with slam poetry @ the legendary Nuyorican Poets Cafe', working alongside another talented individual under the name of 'MetaPhorce'. They would perform there weekly soon gaining the crowds favorite. Cielo then went on to writing raps in Spanish after being inspired by urban Latin artists Calle Trece, Tego Calderon, Mala Rodriguez, Winsin y Yandel , Don Omar ( to name a few). She performed in various venues throughout the Tri-State area and even at the legendary S.O.B.'s (where she procured a regular bi-weekly spot through The Latin Connect; and even got to open up for her favorite artist/rapper, Jean Grae. Cielo appeared in the longest running Spanish variety show Sabado Gigante (for the 2005 reggaeton contest..also The Roof in Miami, and even touched stage in Colombia at the well-respected Hip-Hop Al Parque/Simon Bolivar in Bogota (which has an audience of about 50,000 fans). She even threw herself to the "gallos" two years in a row; becoming the only female out of 90 guys battling it out in "La Batalla de Los Gallos" next to her home state (New Jersey) in New York City. This young lady paid her dues here and there; and when asked about her proudest moment in this infamous industry she says:"In 2008 a song I wrote, titled "Somos Latinos", went on to play in a cable music channel; 'Music Choice Latin Urban Channel'...it was the greatest feeling watching the song dance between the number 1 and 10 spots for an unknown artist with no marketing or promotional budget for 8 months in a row!!" Cielo Rios was creative a force to be reckoned with. May her soul eternally rest....<br/>
