I used a few different methods to create this piece, specifically to make the wings transparently overlap.
Ancient Perspective

This is a small glass vase/fishbowl? I found and decided to etch. All freehand. I know I saw a similar image in one of the books I read, it just sort of intrigues me that this design in particular could represent something and I'm completely unsure what it is. Is it a deity? A demon? An animal...? The perspective is completely fascinating.$40magnuspacis@gmail.com for more info
I created it with the work of ancient South Americans in mind ~ the way that they portrayed the world through their art was absolutely amazing. Truly an interesting subject of study, if you ever get around to it! The jaguar mean tdifferent things to the various cultures living in the jungle; some believed it to be able to pass between the worlds of the living and the dead.Roughly 6"x10" (email for exact measurements). I have yet to master the art of photographing glossy objects -- the glaze is a bit darker in real life.It does have a wire on the back but it's not very traditionally attached. I ended up gluing it to a ridge and making it the most sturdy as possible. Hangs nicely, though~ magnuspacis@gmail.com
It won a "Best in Show" and a "Superior" recognition at the last exhibition I had it in, followed by a month's stay in the CVA art gallery in Minneapolis. All I really want to mention is that I've had the pleasure of watching people sit down on benches in front of this piece and flat out daydream. It's truly an honor. It's been difficult getting a photo of this piece because she's matted and in a plastic casing that I'd rather not disturb, so forgive the loss of certain details.Approximately 24"x16" without the matted frame.
