This is one is pretty simple. Another penis and embryo with strange things happening... a fun experiment with black paper... not sure I like the outcome.

I wish I could scan this whole image through, but this will have to do for now. I really enjoyed doing this one, and I think it has to do with an ex-girlfriend who had scoliosis...

Mural Series (wall 3 of 3)

The third and final wall in this mural series. Opposite the first wall. This wall was tedious and time consuming. The taping off and mapping out of straight edged lines and the process of keeping those lines straight and clean took hours. But in the end it was well worth the sweat and mess. It took me about a hundred hours to complete the three walls, over three months went by and I had never painted for more than a half an hour before this. Unfortunately, five years later, Gloria decided to strip all her interior walls and repaint them. At least I got the experience and documentation!

This is the next wall in her living room... I took the most time and had the most fun on this wall! I had to blend super fast, and really learned as I went, because I had no idea what the hell I was doing... Gloria seemed to like the results though, and I too was pleased with the final outcome.

I did a 3 wall mural for a woman in Uptown, Mpls., in 1998. This is the first wall or the entry way to her living room. She had wanted something simple and pattern oriented, so this is what we came up with. In the end we both disliked it. It was mostly covered up by her entertainment center anyway. Go figure.

Subconscious Self Portait 2

A ten minute experiment on primed masonite gone wrong. Sure, this image looks fine, but shortly after taking a slide of this little darling, I dropped it on a hard surface and all the beautifully dried and cracked looking (undiluted) liquid water color medium promptly flaked off in horrendous hordes... Yes, I was horrified and upset, but I never did "paint" that way again! At least I have this for posterity...

My first "painting"... I used a liquid water color, straight-up, on primed masonite. Gave this little experiment away too.

A very early attempt with my fledgling style. I noticed my work looking more cartoon-like instead of fine art-like, so I was trying to get away from outlining too much image. Also part of my "Dough Art" period.

Blind And Bound

Interconnectedness

A really time consuming endeavor. One of my first explorations into interconnectivity and the ebb and flow of line versus color versus form. I exchanged this with Sabrina for my Girlfriend's Acupuncture.
