Opposite the first wall. This wall was tedious and time consuming. The taping off and mapping out of straight edged lines and the process of keeping those lines straight and clean took hours. But in the end it was well worth the sweat and mess. It took me about a hundred hours to complete the three walls, over three months went by and I had never painted for more than a half an hour before this. Unfortunately, five years later, Gloria decided to strip all her interior walls and repaint them. At least I got the experience and documentation!
I took the most time and had the most fun on this wall! I had to blend super fast, and really learned as I went, because I had no idea what the hell I was doing... Gloria seemed to like the results though, and I too was pleased with the final outcome.
This is the first wall or the entry way to her living room. She had wanted something simple and pattern oriented, so this is what we came up with. In the end we both disliked it. It was mostly covered up by her entertainment center anyway. Go figure.
Sure, this image looks fine, but shortly after taking a slide of this little darling, I dropped it on a hard surface and all the beautifully dried and cracked looking (undiluted) liquid water color medium promptly flaked off in horrendous hordes... Yes, I was horrified and upset, but I never did "paint" that way again! At least I have this for posterity...
