This is for a client in Minneapolis, a very Eco-dedicated and playfully innovative concept-restaurant with some of the best Pizza one could ever have.... Galactic Pizza! (even though i have a lusty love and loyalty for Pizza Luce' as well) Delivered by Superheroes and Supersheroes wearing capes and tights and driving little elactric cars called "gizmo"s....the HQ and kitchen lights are all run off of windpower brokered through an agreement with a regional provider. Check out the finding games... I loved making them challenging!

Bear is one of our closest relatives in many systems of shamanic science...much of what they can teach about healing herbs and diet is directly translateable to our own body-chemistry and needs. Obviously they represent physical strength and great power as well. This is an image in tribute to Bear energy; designed for wearing on clothing.

This is another of my favorite things.... unlike many artists in this area, i do not copy a photo..... i re-create a scene using resource photos, or a photo.... or even just a description.....and strive to reflect something of that animal's Life as a picture.

I love this first piece the most....i find it more memorable than many of my favorite works of a vastly superior technical and aesthetic quality...it does exactly what it was meant to do, and people almost always smile or even laugh as they note the dad's hairy legs. This is one of the several ideas outlined by Tom Fitzpatrick for the Way To Grow coloring book, which he conceived and outlined, which i helped to develop, and then illustrated.

This is a commercial piece, so for purposes of networking I will refer to the client by name....Ryan Billig of Minneapolis has begun producing his own line of Tempe, with organically-farmed locally-grown soybeans....and due to his love of human-powered vehicles, and the Javanese trike-taxi; called Betjak...he has his inspiration for his logo. As a multidisciplinary community artist, i had the good fortune to be offered this commission; and as is usually the case, was thrilled and honored to accept. Doing what i Love, in service of supporting peoples' doing what they Love...well...that feels very , very good.

This is a Vision-Painting...the client has connection to Israel in both Heart and Heritage...this commission was begun overseas in Sandefjord, and finished in Minneapolis. I saw this as a night scene, and added the date-palms in reference to the Land of Judea, especially in honor of the tenacity and abundance of Life as represented by the 2,000-year-old Judean date-palm seeds which were found buried recently at the Masada site.....and successfully sprouted...bringing back a species long thought to be extinct. This piece renewed a lot of my Lion feeling, and has triggered a reconnection with that spirit, and Cats in general.

This is the thumbnail development phase of a visionary painting for a client in Minnesota. The beaver is partly inspired by my Rock n' Roll Beaver painting...this commission is for someone who loves to feed people and who connects with both these animals as archetypes; or totem-animals.

'Bout time i got some of these more prolific forms onto my Web-Gallery walls! This form of my art often makes people smile... especially little people...and goshdarnit....i like that! This was one of the T-Shirt gals at the Porsgrunn Internasjonal Teaterfestivalen in '06. I finally have been keeping a better photographic record of my face and bodypainting, and vow to upload a bunch soon.

This was my first American commission after moving to Norway... a few commissions helped me make the journey... this one helped me survive while getting oriented and i am still working on that ! The client is a friend, a wiry man with good connections... and wanted something funny, in a Cartoon form, a medium i have plied before... and when i "floated" (little Ghostly humor there!) this edgy and somewhat shocking idea past him, he switched on to it right away. ...a light went on, and the rest is history! Wow, it feels good to get that OUT of me onto Paper ! (Illustration by me....basic Concept by Pete Hovde ) So much, this one...Lots of artistic challenges in this one, actually...and some real triumphs for me...gotta credit old horror movie posters, and certainly Robert Crumb, as influences... and the undiscovered cartoonist restless inside me. It's not perfect...note the white tree stump-top in the mid-ground; and the upper right side outline of W's speech balloon isn't filled in... but i really "get" it when i look at it. And i feel certain many others will get it too. If we are All really one person, then i am very mad at the part of myself who is George W. Bush... long past sick of his/their shit..... and i am not going to be stuck in fear about expressing that. It may even help me to put food on my Family !

This is a painting of the scene a woman made it to after two difficult tries. On the third try she trusted the Bear, pushed through her fear, and came out of the cave to this.
