The sound from the tape is routed through an amplifier to two porcelain bowls filled with water.       <description>&lt;a href="http://www.mnartists.org/work.do?rid=604"&gt;&lt;img src="http://www.mnartists.org/uploads/users/user_79/b7015e48d7cff26a08c24dea6d9904c9/b7015e48d7cff26a08c24dea6d9904c9_scale_103_80.jpg" height="80" width="103" border="1" alt="Balance (2002-03)" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Balance uses the physical struggle of balancing as a metaphor for making sense of the world around us. Seemingly insignificant actions can sometimes have a disproportionately large effect. This installation is an extension of a similarly-titled performance piece from 1998.&#xD;&#xD;The installation has two video images: a small LCD monitor displays shows a hand attempting to balance an egg on end, while a second, projected video shows an armless man struggling to balance on a wooden see-saw.       <title>Oh Time Thy Pyramids (2000)</title>

The four segments of the video make use of super-8 film from the artist's childhood, a plaster hobby-horse replica, found images and sound, ersatz medicines, and quasi-Egyptian imagery.  Running time: approximately 21 minutes.
