I added a mustache and there he was in all his dark glory. Since then he has performed with his own band...slurring the words of every song. He has undressed to reveal his love of women's underwear and when very drunk he believes that he is the famous tango dancer: Juan Carlos. In August 2006 Anthony performed in Yaroslavl, Russia where he was very much at home.Speaking of home...In March he will be going home to Chicago. Anthony will be performing at Links Hall, March 3, 4, & 5th 2007. He is very much looking forward to it and hopes that some of his old friends will be there.Laurie Van Wieren has been performing, choreographing, producing and teaching dance in Minneapolis since 1980. She is originally from the Austin neighborhood of Chicago and Alum of the Art Institute of Chicago. Quote:"...Laurie Van Wieren is a master of the small exquisite movement, deftly employed to compose characters that become indelible in the mind." -Camille LeFevre, Minneapolis StarTribune
This work has been seen as a half hour performance, and is in progress to be performed as a full evening show in 2008.created in part, in Red Eye Isolated Acts Performance Process 2006www.theredeye.orgseen:Tramp Dances curated by Hijack, Links Hall, Chicago March 2,3 2007Patrick's Cabaret 20th Anniversary Show, April 28th 2006The Red Eye Theatre, Isolated Acts, May 2006With performers:Tom CarlsonCorinne CaouetteChris HolmanJudith HowardPam PlaggeApril SellersTom Carlson began his performing career at the age of 7, as a trumpet player outside of his grandfather's mission in downtown Minneapolis. He began his dance career with ContactWorks Dance Company as a teacher and company member in the early 80's. Mr. Carlson has also appeared in the work of Georgia Stephens at Dance Theater Workshop in NYC. Tom has performed with Laurie Van Wieren and the B-Specifics since 1984. He is a trumpet player with the infamous Brass Messengers (aka The Gypsy Comb-Overs).Corinne Caouette has studied classical ballet for 12 years, classical violin for 15+ years, and singing for as long as she can remember. She performs and records song/dance/comedy frequently with Le Cirque Rouge de Gus/Burlesque Show and is a member of Faux Jean, a Minneapolis-based rock band that performs and records original music. She is currently composing, producing, and recording her own music project in hopes of stumbling across a large sum of money to finance a life of international tour, performance and romance (and who isn't?)Chris Holman is a fifth-generation San Franciscan who moved to Minneapolis temporarily, 25 years ago. He has no dance or musical training, yet he knows what he likes. This is his final performance.Judith Howard is a choreographer and performer whose work has been widely presented in the Twin Cities and beyond. She is on the Dance/Theater faculty of Macalester College and was selectd "Twin Cities Best Choreographer" in 2005 by CityPages. Judith has joyfully appeared in the work of Laurie Van Wieren since 1990.Pam Plagge is an independent choreographer and dance educator at North High School. She has danced in work by April Sellers, Gerry Girouard, and William Atchouelou. Her dream of becoming a B-Specific has finally been realized, thanks to Laurie. Her passions are dance and travel, especially when she combines the two...such as her recent trip to study salsa and Afro-Cuban dance in Havana, Cuba.April Sellers moved to Minneapolis in 1997 after graduating with a BFA in dance from Ohio State University. In addition to appearing as a dancer in original works of Liz Lerman, John Munger, Judith Howard, and Laurie Van Wieren, Sellers has established herself as an innovative choreographer and dance educator. She founded the April Sellers Dance collective in 1999. Ms. Sellers work has been seen at the Walker Art Center, Minnesota Fringe Festival, RedEye Theater, Bryant Lake Bowl Theater, and the Varsity Theater. She is currently on faculty at St. Cloud State University.

image: 5 Dancers and a DJ
